Athletic Accomplishments

This young lady is an up-and-coming Combo Guard at Hardin Valley Academy, competing in highly regarded 4A play in Tennessee. A 3 year varsity starting Point Guard and Team Captain in middle school, Kyndra proved from an early age that she was ahead of her years athletically and could compete against older players without skipping a beat. For HVA, Kyndra was the starting varsity Point Guard as a freshman last season and is continuing that tradition now as a sophomore. On the AAU circuit, she runs with the highly regarded ETA Thunder squad. In store for a huge high school career, to say Kyndra is a young lady to keep a close eye on would be a tremendous understatement!

Twitter: @kyndrawest

Sophomore Accolades
1st Team All-District Honors
Full-Time Varsity Starter
All-Tournament Team Honors
Tournament MVP Honors
3X Knoxville News-Sentinel PrepXtra Girls Basketball POW
Class of 2025 Top Players - 5 Star Preps
Top Point Guards in 2025 - TNVarsity
Prep Girls Hoops - #7 2025 PG in TN
Prep Girls Hoops - Top 25 Ranking (All 2025 Players)
@TnVarsity D1 Large, 800m "State Favorite"

Freshman Accolades
"The Playmaker Award" Recipient (HVA Athletics)
"Most Assists Award" Recipient (HVA Athletics)
"Freshman Athletic Standout" Recipient (HVA Athletics)
"CAREacter Star Athlete Award" Recipient
5StarPreps District 4-4A All-District Team (click HERE)
Varsity Starting PG / Varsity Letter
"Top Performer Award" - "The Classic" Tournament @ Louisville, KY
Best of the Best Showcase Invite
Insider Exposure Jr. All-American Showcase Invite
2nd Place @ 4x800 Relay, TSSAA State Track Meet
All-State Track Honors
HVA "Rookie of the Year" Track Award
Varsity Track Letter

8th Grade Accolades
Starting PG
Team Captain
Warrior Award

7th Grade Accolades
Starting PG
Team Captain
All-County Award

6th Grade Accolades
Starting PG
Character Award

With great foot speed, she is able to get coast to coast knocking down shots and distributing the ball along the way. Heady player who makes great decisions when she is in between the lines. Has a sweet shot release that compliments her ability to score the basketball."

5 Star Preps Write Up
"West made a big splash her freshman season at Hardin Valley, making the All-District 4-AAAA team. She can score at all three levels, distribute and push the pace in transition. The big transition from middle school to high school varsity didn't faze her."

The Asher Report Write Up
"West is a fast point guard that loves to push the ball up the floor. She rebounds well for her size and looks to turn it into offense quickly. West has a very good feel for the game and does a great job of getting others involved on the floor. She also displays the ability to get into the paint for floaters over taller defenders. West is an electric point guard who will make shooters all around her better."

Honors/Extracurricular Activities
Multiple Honors Courses
"Student of the Month" Award (November 2022)
DECA
NSHSS Inductee
Gamechangers
Student Council
FCA
Young Life
Church Youth Group
Community Volunteer
Excellence in Pre-Law
Excellence in Science
Excellence in History

Coach Quotes
"(West has) done a really good job for us at hte point guard," HVA coach Jennifer Galloway said, "which has enabled us to get it to Waite at the wing a lot more, and we were able to use (Waite) in different places because Kyndra is able to handle (point guard) so well."

- Jennifer Galloway (High School Basketball Coach)

"Kyndra is a warrior. She's a player-coach who knows how to lead and control her team both in and off the court. Her heart and hustle will outmatch and outwork anyone. She leads by example, and her skill set as a point guard is going to take her to the next level. I'm excited to see what her future holds. She made me a better coach."

- Cara Cahak (Middle School Basketball Coach)

It is my great pleasure to speak of Kyndra West. I have had the honor of knowing her and her family for five and a half years as she grew from Elementary School to High School. As an athlete I quickly identified her as that leader which my girls Cross-Country team had been lacking. She led our Elementary and Middle School Cross Country teams to three State Championships. She was the "glue-girl" for our program. She also led us to three Track titles. We now have an annual award called the "Warrior Award." This award goes to the young lady who best exemplifies the attributes of Kyndra.

As a person, she is a wonderful role model for all the younger athletes. She serves as a junior coach and mentor for our summer programs.

As a student, academics have always come first with her. She is an Honor Roll student and sets her personal bar very high.

In closing, this girl would have been the poster child for a program led by the late Pat Summit."

- Jeffrey A. Charlton (Cross Country Coach)
