Hannah Portzel (Class of 2021) plays for Oaks Christian High School where she was named 2nd Team All-League for the Marmonte League in the Los Angeles area. As a junior, she was recognized with the Lion’s Award (MVP) by her coaches. Hannah lead her team in blocks and was second in kills and digs. She is a versatile player, playing both as MB and in the back row. She made varsity as a sophomore, but elected to spend her sophomore year studying abroad in Germany. Hannah will play her club season with Reef Volleyball Club. In her freshman year, she played for Sports Academy, leading the team as OH/MB, never leaving the court. Hannah keeps a busy schedule, taking two AP classes and volunteering with preschoolers.

At 6’0-125lbs, Hannah leads her team in blocks and is second in kills and digs. She combines an aggressive and vocal style of play with her ability and willingness to play in multiple positions to put herself in a position to continue to grow as a player and leader. She is also a varsity track athlete, competing in high jump and triple jump. As a freshman, she was a CIF-SS preliminaries qualifier in high jump.

As tall as Hannah has already stood on the volleyball courts so far in her young high school and club career to-date, she also understands the importance of keeping her grades up to reach her lofty collegiate goals. As a junior, Hannah is carrying a solid 3.2 GPA, and will be taking her SAT/ACT exams later on in her high school career.
