Last year as a freshman, she had an excellent year on the JV squad--so much so that her JV head coach told me that she would be able to fit the vacated spot at first base by the graduated senior without a doubt. I had just taken over the program this year. Not only has Amaja "fit the vacated spot", she has excelled and played extremely well as our starting first basemen as a sophomore.</em> <div dir="ltr"> <div dir="ltr"> <div dir="ltr"> <div><em>&nbsp;</em></div> <div><em>Amaja has very good footwork and technique with respect to fielding the ball and especially receiving&nbsp;throws at first base. She has saved numerous potential throwing errors by infielders with her ability to dig throws in the dirt and to stretch and react to other off target throws.</em></div> <div><em>&nbsp;</em></div> <div><em>Offensively, she is our #4 hitter. She currently has a batting&nbsp;average of 0.361 and an on-base percentage over 0.500. She is a discerning hitter and gives us many quality at bats. With time, work, and experience, her power numbers will rise--she has unlimited potential with regard to such.</em></div> <div><em>&nbsp;</em></div> <div><em>Although it is cliche to say, but, Amaja is a team player and a leader on our team by example. Her work ethic is strong and she is quite coachable. I certainly believe that Amaja is going to work hard and develop and sharpen her softball skill set and be able to succeed at the next level. She has unlimited potential."</em><br /><br />- Coach Sarbacker (EHS Softball Coach)</div> </div> </div> </div>
