Athletic Accomplishments

This young man is a 2-way player (QB/Safety) at Elko H.S., competing in highly regarded play in Nevada. This past season as a senior, he earned 2nd Team All-League Honors, East Division Athlete of the Year Honors, was named the EHS Team Offensive MVP, and broke mulitple school records (career total offense, career passing, offensive yardage). As a junior, Justus and his EHS varsity squad finished the year 7-3 en-route to their State Semi Final appearance and his 2nd Team All-League Offense Honors, his Offensive MVP Award, and Varsity Award. As a sophomore before COVID-19 cut their season short, Justus helped lead his team to a 6-0 record and was dominant on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Also a standout baseball player, to say Justus is a young man to keep a close eye on as an upperclassman these next few years would be a tremendous understatement!

Coach Quotes
"I am writing this in reference to the character and leadership qualities of Justus Nielsen.  I have known Justus for 2 years now.  He has been in my weights class, Health class and was one of our outstanding football players on our Frosh Fall 2019 and Spring 2021 JV football teams.  Justus is always on time and accountable for what he is supposed to be doing.  His leadership abilities were highly evident in the weight room, classroom, practice field and during games.  Justus’s outstanding work ethic was most impressive in that he did not just lead with his vocabulary and speech, but with his whole character. During this COVID-19 offseason he put in the work needed to succeed on his own. His overall GPA is good and he is in good standing with the school and his progress toward graduation.  Justus is involved in many different extra-curricular activities including football and track. Quality programs need quality people involved and I believe that Justus Nielsen is a quality person that has great character and makes for a bright future in our Football Program."
