As a sophomore, she was the starting Guard on the varsity unit for the second consecutive season, and was named Team Captain and earned All-Tournament Honors. Playing her AAU ball with the well respected Upward Stars squad out of Nashville, Abbie is no stranger to elite competition and more than holds her own against older players. Coach Quotes
"Abbie Lampley is one of the hardest working, hard nosed, tough PG's I have had the pleasure to coach. This kid is very quick, fast and athletic, with a great fundamental ability to guard the best player on the opposing team. I have confidence that during high stress, need for ball control, and ball possession situations Abbie delivers. Abbie is also a good shooter that will knock down the 3 when needed, as well as attack the rim, finish or find the open post. Great athletic ability and high IQ player."
-Coach Jamie Allee (Upward Stars coach 2019)

“I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Abbie for 2 years now with Stars Basketball Club in Nashville TN. Abbie is what every coach looks for on that first day of practice. She’s a hard worker, she gives 110% in every drill, is always encouraging her other teammates, and competes in practice just as hard as she competes in games. She has a passion for the game that shows in everything she does on the court. Abbie can run the point guard position, she can play off the ball and knock down shots, and she always plays tough nose, in your face defense. Any program would be lucky to have a player like Abbie, and I am thankful that she chose to be a part of Stars Basketball.”
- Seth Poston (Upward Stars Coach 2019 & 2020)

"Abbie is a fierce competitor with good handles and shot, quick with the ball, and always has a positive attitude."
- Josh Kelly (Upward Stars Coach summer 2020)

"Abbie is a hard nose point guard who knows only one way to play and practice....Hard!! She's learning to be a student of the game. Her heart is as big as any player that I have coached."
- Aaron Taylor (EHHS head coach 2020-2021)

"Abbie is the type of point guard you want to lead your team.  She not only has a thorough understanding of the game, great speed, and a non-stop motor, but she also possesses a blue-collar work ethic that is becoming more and more rare among student-athletes of this generation.  What she lacks in size, she makes up for in grit and determination.  It is these character traits that, in tandem with her skill set and basketball IQ, makes her a quality collegiate prospect."
- Nick Simmons (EHHS head coach freshman and sophomore year)

“I had the privilege of coaching Abbie for 6 years. In my 10 years of coaching I have never had a player work and play as hard as she did. She brought it every single day at practice and in games which is rare. She led every drill, every sprint, every time. She is a gifted defender that can cover holes left by teammates and has a quiet determination that is often overlooked. She has developed into a great shooter that can score and has the ability to make clutch shots. Her intangibles are off the charts.”
- Tucker Hobbs (coached Abbie 3-8th grades and in jr pro)

“Abbie Lamply is a defense guru can guard any player on the floor. She has the attitude that this is my game. She has the knowledge to see the floor very well to find the open person, but can knock the 3 ball down if need be. She is a great leader on the floor!!!"
- Coach Shelitta Sowell
