Athletic Accomplishments

This 2022 grad will be playing her senior year of competition at Lawrenceburg H.S., competing in strong play in Indiana. As junior, sophomore and freshman, Mary was the starting GK on the loaded varsity unit at East Central H.S., earned MaxPreps.com Player of the Game Honors for her stellar performance against LHS (ECHS's major rival) and also earned Honorable Mention All-County Honors for her play in 2019 and 2020! As a freshman, Mary saw substantial time at GK on the varsity unit. Ahead of her years athletically, Mary is the GK on the loaded CUP Gold 03 squad (GLC/OSSL), is no stranger to elite competition on the ultra competitive select circuit, and was recently selected to play with Indiana ODP as their GK for the Girls U17 squad at the ODP Inter-Regional Event in February 2019 and received an Indiana State Team Invite in March 2020! Mary was invited to play for the Cincinnati Sirens Academy in 2020 and was trained by Cincinnati Sirens Coaches. Poised for a massive career on the pitch, Mary is WITHOUT A DOUBT a young lady to keep a close eye on this next few years in both high school and select play!

As of July 29, 2020, Mary was named to the Honorable Mention list of "Players to Watch" in Northern Kentucky and Indiana by the Cincinnati Enquirer, which is a HUGE honor for an incoming junior to receive!

*En-route to her MaxPreps.com Player of the Game Award for her play against LHS on 8/22/19, Mary  played the full 94 minutes, recorded 5 saves out of 5 shots on goal and registered 2 of 4 blocked PK's!

Mary has been endorsed by teammates and coaches for displaying the following strengths:

 - Mary only wants to be the best. She works extremely hard, is always looking to be better and has a strong desire to win. She is extremely coachable, and the harder you push her, the harder she goes. Like any young kid, she likes positive feedback...but it must be authentic. She doesn’t shy away from contact or tough criticism...and she literally just wants to do her part. One of her greatest strengths is her foot skills." Chris Barwell (Coach)

- "I have coached Mary for several years. She is very committed to her Goal Keeper position. She regularly attends additional Keeper training during the regular season as well as in the off season. She is very dedicated to her team both as a player and a motivator. Mary typically receives positive comments from other coaches and referees following her games due to her fearless and skilled performance as a Goal Keeper. I believe that she has the will, athleticism, and competitive drive to become a successful college soccer player." - Cincinnati West Coach

Mary has a great attitude and was a pleasure to work with at camp. She has a great foundation of technical goalkeeping skills especially for such a young keeper. As a class of 2022 graduate she has a lot of time to continue to develop into an elite keeper.

Coach Boruff's Comments
Mary was a pleasure to work with at camp. She came to every session with a lot of energy, and a desire to get better. She did a great job of not only pushing herself, but also the other girls in the group. Mary's technical ability stood out to me. She was confident in her catching, and also made some very good saves in the 11v11. Mary has a lot of time to develop and reach her potential!
